Pretty Women

Loud noises everywhere. The buzz of a crowd. Mostly, I hear nothing in particular, running around busing and setting tables, showing people to their seats and B-S-ing with the cooks. As I'm pouring water I hear, “The last three office managers had quite a figure.” The woman next to him scowls, “Why would you notice that?”. The gentleman sitting across from him smiles, “I don't know how you couldn't.”. With a quick grin I am caught. The other woman who hasn't said anything yet turns to me and says with a wink, “Look at this guy pouring water ,trying not to laugh and pretending not to listen.” I quickly reply with an even bigger smile “I don't know what you're talking about” and rush off.

Very funny! I really like the way that you describe short scenes. It's like I was sitting at the next table listening to the same coversation.
